Kayaking from Miami to Caracas along the Carribean Islands!!!
Thanks to Mauricio Graham for the image

Thank you for visiting our site. The Ultimate Kayak Trip, the UKT, is a 2,550 mile kayak voyage from Miami to Caracas along the Caribbean islands which will get partooked by yours truly and Tony between November first of 2009 and June 30th of 2010.

It is the perfect mix between exercise, adventure on land and sea, cleansing and rejuvenation of mind and body, and inspiration to those who think money, careers, or whatever other excuse can get in the way of super cool trips like this.

This trip is intense, but we plan on proving that it can be done with very little discomfort and money. We will seek sponsorship but we will not rely on it because we want to begin a trend that will see a new group of UKT ers every year, and we want to show how it can be affordable.

The UKT goes through 11 independent nations (including a side trip to Haiti), four british colonies, two French departments, an affiliated state of the Netherlands, and two protectorates of the U.S.; which put it in 20 different political zones and four languages not including the Creoles and native languages.

I have distinguished 91 islands along the UKT, many of which are probably private, so we will be sure to notify as many of the people who live along the route of the UKT as we can.

There are also 46 mountains to be climbed in the UKT, 13 of which are active volcanoes.

The 91 island crossings in the UKT will vary between less than one and a hundred miles in distance, but will average around 20 or 30... just perfect!

I shall take this opportunity to express a very important point. The UKT isn't just about the UKT. It's also a journey from the planting of an idea through to it's fruition. It's fascinating to see how your dreams unfold according to how you plan them. There are always amazing consistencies between what I envision and what I ultimately experience, and there are always completely unexpected occurrences which are just as amazing. I also have a strong desire for other people to explain their trips with the same detailed explanation we will do for the UKT, as it's a lot less work to figure out how to go about doing an expedition if someone else has done it first. For example, I would like to hike across the Taklamakan desert one day, but I would prefer it if someone else will have completed it first and put together a nice website describing how they did it so I could check it out and do it just like them.

* If anybody gots a suggestion or more importantly a praising upon us you best post it on our forum page. *
